Buyer Beware: East Hills Chrysler Jeep Dodge: Life Time Warranty! NOT TRUE!!!
Salesmen at East Hills Chrysler Jeep Dodge sold my wife I Lifetime Maximum Care vehicle protection warranty on the new Dodge Grand Caravan we purchased from East Hills Chrysler dealership. The salesmen explained that the coverage would apply to any mechanical failure with the car for as long as we owned it. When we received documents in the mail confirming the purchase of the Lifetime Warranty we reviewed the details. One critical piece of information was not disclosed to us at the dealership: at the time a repair is needed, if the cost of the repair exceeds the value of the vehicle at that time, I, the customer, would be paid the value of the vehicle and the lifetime warranty would be terminated. Upon learning this, I decided I did not want the Lifetime Warranty after all. I met with the salesmen and he provided me with a note stating that the lifetime warranty would be cancelled and my outstanding balance would be credited for $5,431.25, the price of the warranty I agreed to. I eventually received a cancellation notice from Mopar (company that issued the warranty). I have been waiting to see the adjustment reflected in my monthly statement from TD Bank (there has been no change as of 10/6/16). I have tried a number of times to follow up with the salesmen who sold me the warranty so he could confirm that the dealership had taken care of this issue. On 10/5/16 I followed up with salesmen yet again. His response was he had just arrived at the dealership two hours earlier and his desk was a mess and he would get back to me later that day. He has yet to return my call. I called and left a message on 10/6/16 and still have not heard from him.
